JHU INSTITUTIONAL COMPLIANCE OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE

The Institutional Compliance Oversight Committee is responsible for establishing and maintaining a University wide compliance program. Its purpose is to perform ongoing risk assessments and to ensure that the members of the Committee are knowledgeable about compliance risks from sources outside the University. Oversight responsibility is assigned for each major area to designated committee members to ensure that policies and procedures are developed and implemented to address all of the external regulations that pertain to their areas. The selected leader will also be responsible for promoting compliance and ethics awareness, will periodically test for compliance and develop action plans when noncompliance is detected. In addition, the Committee is responsible for identifying new compliance requirements and for assigning responsibility.

JHU RESEARCH COMPLIANCE COMMITTEE

Research compliance at Hopkins is facilitated and monitored by several specialized divisional and university offices. The university-wide Research Compliance Committee was formed in 1999 to develop a program for the responsible conduct of research and stewardship of sponsored funds that complements, rather than replaces, these offices.
